Kellie Martin is an American TV and film actress popular for her role in the roles of Christy Huddleston in the period drama series 'Christy Christy', Rebecca Thatcher in the family drama 'Life Goes On as well as Lucy Knight in the medical drama series 'ER'. She is also famous for her role as the main character in the Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Martin is the daughter of a department store purchaser and kindergarten teacher started her career in acting when she was seven. Her aunt who served as an nanny for Michael Landon's kids assisted Martin land a role in 1981's series "Father Murphy". When she completed her studies at Yale University in 1982, Martin began to take her acting profession more than just a hobby. She was able to land important roles on television as well as the big screen. Martin, besides being an actor, is also a skilled photographer and ballet dancer. As a mother to two kids, she has become the National spokesperson for Lupus. She has promoted awareness of the disease since her younger sister died due to the disease at 19.
